We are organizing our 1st Annual “I Surf For Boobies Contest and BBQ” 100% of the funds raised by this event will directly help our mothers, sisters, and friends diagnose, fight, and survive breast cancer. All Competitors will get sponsors donating an amount of money per wave caught. There will be fifteen minute heats with a chance to catch about 5-10 waves per heat. We have developed a scoring system averaging performance of rides in combination with amount of rides. It will be a mellow and fun atmosphere promoting awareness and raising funds for beast cancer.

Our goal is to raise at least $15,000 to help women diagnose, fight, and survive breast cancer. We hope that each competitor will participate in the surf contest to the best of his or her ability. If each competitor raises $200 - $300, we will achieve our goal. We’re hoping to make this surf contest the first of many, so the more contributions you raise, the more successful we’ll be at achieving our goal. Thank you very muchfor your participation!

Surfers must have a 9'0 and bigger board, you may use a leash. There will be 3 different age groups for boy/girl surfers ages 12-15, there will be a mens contest ages 16-up, and a womens contest 16-up. There will be prizes for top 3 surfers in each age group.

Rules

1.       Competitors may start collecting pledges as soon as they receive the pledge sheets. Pledges are urged to be present at the event but not required. You also must surf in the name of a person who has had breast cancer. They can be family, friend, celebrity, anyone. All competitors will receive a t-shirt and a free lunch. Reminder: Pledge sheets need to be turned in by Friday the 22^nd of August

2.       Pledges may be made by anyone. However, participants may not ask for pledges from any of the staff members of ForBoobies.com. Please ask everyone who pledges if their company has a matching gift fund policy. Companies who do match pledge gifts are listed on the back of the pledge sheet. Also, it is tax-deductible if your company wants to get involved.

3.       Each sponsor making a pledge should write their own name, pledge per wave, and maximum pledge. Competitors may collect the pledge in advance but must keep pledges until all are collected.

4.       On the day of the event, each competitor will surf during a specified time period. Each wave is tallied and scored. The person with the highest donations will have all the money donated in their survivor’s name. The person that wins the event based on scoring of waves will also win a grand prize for each level of competitor.

5.       Upon completion of the surf contest, competitors will be given a signed tally of their waves caught to provide to sponsors in order to collect outstanding pledges. A volunteer will record each competitor’s wave total. Please return pledge sheets with the money to ForBoobies.com by Sunday September 21st.

6.       No attitudes are allowed. No snaking, no negative actions. This is a great event and should be treated as a community fundraiser.
